I remember when I discovered The Pixies music. It was a shock. I discovered them late, very late. I wondered why hadn't heard from them? I also remember the first time I saw them. Another shock.
Los Pixies son unos pioneros en el tema musical, pero ahora me doy cuenta de que también lo son en lo estético. La moda y la música siempre han estado unidas. La música es inspiración, y muchos diseñadores se han servido de ella para crear sus colecciones; y la moda ha servido a muchos músicos para proyectar y vender una imagen que va más allá de sus canciones. Y quizá, sólo quizá, alguien ha pensado en Kim Deal y sus looks (en esas chaquetas de chándal y en esos pantalones de pijama que lucen las reinas del street style) para inspirarse...
The Pixies are groundbreakers in music, but now I realize that they also are groundbreakers in aesthetics. Fashion and music had been always join. Music is inspiration, and many designers had used it to create their collections; and musicians had used fashion to proyect themselves and sell an image beyond their songs. And maybe, just maybe, somebody had thought about Kim Deal and her looks to be inspired. Looks like the tracksuit jackets and the pyjama pants that every street style queen is wearing now.
